SSOUNDS Education
Training & certification
Become a certified SSOUNDS engineer. From DSP programming and system tuning to networked audio and rigging safety, our programmes take you from the classroom to confidently delivering world-class sound — online and in-person at our Abuja training centre.
Courses & pathways
A structured curriculum built around real-world production demands. Mix online theory with hands-on sessions on real SSOUNDS rigs — the same systems deployed at stadium-scale events across Africa.
PA System Design & Prediction
Coverage patterns, SPL budgets, array geometry and acoustic prediction using SSOUNDS System Designer. Learn to model any venue before a single box is unpacked — the mandatory starting point for every certified engineer.
System Tuning & Optimisation
End-to-end system alignment using measurement software (Smaart / REW). Covers signal flow, gain structure, EQ, delay alignment, phase coherence and how to read a transfer function. You will leave able to tune any rig to a flat, even response.
DSP Programming & Processing
Deep-dive into digital signal processing: crossover design, FIR/IIR filters, limiters, dynamic EQ, presets and loudness management. Practical sessions on SSOUNDS DSP hardware and third-party processors including Lake and Dolby Lake.
Line Array Deployment
Hang, splay, tune and time-align an SSOUNDS line array from truck to showtime. Covers prediction-to-reality correlation, J-curve and straightened arrays, cardioid subwoofer configurations and on-site measurement workflows.
Networked Audio & Control
AES67 and Dante/AES70 network audio — topology design, switch configuration, latency and clock management, redundancy and failover. Live control with SSOUNDS Network Manager and industry-standard consoles on a real show network.
Subwoofer Systems & Cardioid Arrays
Ground-stacked and flown sub arrays, end-fire and cardioid configurations, delay tuning and null placement. Practical sessions measuring front-vs-back rejection and optimising low-frequency coverage for arenas, stadia and outdoor events.
Church & Worship Audio
Designing and running audio for houses of worship — intelligibility-first tuning, managing live bands and in-ear monitors, hearing-loop systems, distributed fill speakers and multizone control for simultaneous overflow rooms.
Amplifier & DSP Optimisation
Advanced amplifier operation, thermal management, bridged/parallel loads, clip-limiting and power scaling. DSP preset creation, limiter thresholds, excursion protection and firmware management to extract every dB of reliable headroom from the rig.
Large-Format System Operation
Operating full-scale touring and stadium rigs under live conditions — monitor world, FOH coordination, system tech responsibilities, RF management, intercom, and troubleshooting under pressure. Built around SSOUNDS' real touring workflow.
Rigging & Safety Certification
Load calculation, motor chain inspection, beam and truss ratings, safe flying practice and emergency procedures — mandatory before operating any SSOUNDS flown system. Meets Nigerian and international events-industry safety standards.
SSOUNDS Certified Engineer
The capstone assessment combining a written theory exam and a supervised practical deployment. Pass to join the SSOUNDS certified engineer network and unlock partner-level technical support, tools and project referrals.
