What is the best speaker for a conference room in Columbus?
Quick answer
For a conference room in Columbus, the best speaker type is a ceiling loudspeaker with integrated DSP, such as SSOUNDS CL6 or CL8, paired with beamforming microphones and a networked amplifier. This delivers even speech coverage, intelligibility, and simple one-touch control.
Conference rooms demand clear speech from both table talk and video calls. Ceiling loudspeakers provide discreet, even coverage without blocking sightlines. SSOUNDS CL6 and CL8 ceiling loudspeakers are designed for speech intelligibility and integrate with DSP for echo cancellation and beamforming microphone systems. For rooms with higher ceilings or where ceiling installation is impractical, SSOUNDS LC8.2 and LC16.2 slim column loudspeakers offer controlled vertical dispersion and can be wall-mounted.
Selection depends on room size, ceiling height, and acoustic treatment. For small to medium rooms (up to 8 seats), a pair of CL6 ceiling loudspeakers with an SSOUNDS A series networked amplifier with DSP and Dante is sufficient. Larger rooms (10 to 20 seats) benefit from four CL8 ceiling loudspeakers or two LC8.2 columns for more even coverage. Boardrooms with video conferencing should use beamforming microphones and ensure the DSP handles echo cancellation and mixing.
SSOUNDS designs and installs across Columbus. Our engineers use AI-assisted acoustic modeling to predict coverage and intelligibility, ensuring every seat receives clear speech. We specify the right combination of ceiling or column loudspeakers, networked amplifiers, and control systems for one-touch operation. For rooms requiring higher SPL or music playback, SSOUNDS P series install loudspeakers (P4, P5, P6T, P10T, P12T) or M series point-source boxes are available.
