What is the best speaker for an office in Philadelphia?

Office sound systems are not about high SPL. They are about intelligibility, even coverage and the ability to run multiple zones independently. In open plan areas, ceiling loudspeakers on a 70/100 V line allow long cable runs with low loss and easy tapping for different power levels. SSOUNDS CL6 and CL8 ceiling loudspeakers are designed for this: they provide wide, smooth dispersion so background music and paging remain consistent whether someone is at their desk or in a corridor. For meeting rooms, where speech clarity matters more, SSOUNDS LC8.2 or LC16.2 slim column loudspeakers can be wall mounted to direct sound at listeners and reduce reflections off glass and hard surfaces.

The backbone of the system is the amplification and processing. SSOUNDS A series networked amplifiers with DSP and Dante give you zone control, EQ, limiting and delay in one unit. You can set up separate zones for open plan, meeting rooms, reception and breakout areas, each with its own level and source. Dante audio networking means you can route paging and music over a single cable, and scale the system as the office grows. For larger open spaces or where more low frequency support is needed, SSOUNDS M series point source boxes and subwoofers can be added, but for most offices the ceiling and column models are sufficient.

Sizing an office system starts with the floor plan. Count the number of ceiling loudspeakers needed for even coverage: as a rule, in areas with standard ceiling height, one ceiling loudspeaker covers roughly 25 to 40 square metres when spaced for background music and paging. In open plan, aim for overlap so that no one is more than about 3 to 4 metres from a loudspeaker. For sound masking, you need a dedicated masking source, often pink noise, played at a low level through the same ceiling loudspeakers or separate emitters. SSOUNDS engineers use AI-assisted acoustic modeling to predict coverage and speech intelligibility before installation, so you get the right number of boxes and the right placement. If you need help specifying a system for an office in Philadelphia, SSOUNDS designs and installs across Philadelphia and can provide a tailored solution.

When selecting loudspeakers, consider the ceiling type and mounting. CL6 and CL8 are suited to suspended ceilings with standard tile cutouts. For high ceilings or where ceiling mounting is not possible, LC8.2 and LC16.2 columns can be mounted on walls or suspended. P4, P5, P6T, P10T and P12T install loudspeakers offer higher output for spaces like auditoriums or large meeting rooms, with T models running on 70/100 V lines. Always match the loudspeaker tap to the amplifier power: a 100 V line can drive many loudspeakers over long distances, but total tap power must not exceed amplifier rating. SSOUNDS A series amplifiers include DSP presets for SSOUNDS loudspeakers, simplifying setup and ensuring consistent voicing.
