What is the best speaker for a banquet hall in Dallas?

A banquet hall hosts both speeches and live bands, so the sound system must handle high speech intelligibility and full-range music without feedback. SSOUNDS recommends point-source mains like the P4, P5, P6T, P10T or P12T, or slim column loudspeakers like the LC8.2 or LC16.2, combined with subwoofers from the M series. For ceiling distribution in low rooms, the CL6 and CL8 provide even coverage. The T models operate on 70/100 V lines for long cable runs, while the M series point-source boxes offer high output for larger spaces.

Selection depends on room size, ceiling height and layout. For a typical banquet hall of 300 to 500 seats, use two to four point-source boxes per side, plus two to four subwoofers. If the ceiling is low or the room is wide, column loudspeakers like the LC8.2 or LC16.2 provide tight vertical control to keep sound on the audience and off the walls. For very large halls, consider a small line array from SSOUNDS. Always use A series networked amplifiers with DSP and Dante to create presets for speech and live band, with feedback suppression and EQ.

SSOUNDS designs and installs across Dallas, with support from our UK, US, Nigeria and Ghana offices. We provide system design, coverage prediction and commissioning. For a banquet hall, we recommend a site survey to determine speaker placement, subwoofer positioning and DSP settings. This ensures consistent coverage and reliable performance for every event.
