The Glory Dome in Abuja is one of the most acoustically challenging venues on the continent — a 100,000-seat single-span dome with a curved concrete ceiling that generates severe flutter echo and long reverberation times.
Dunamis International engaged SSOUNDS to design, supply and commission a permanent installed audio system capable of delivering intelligible speech and full-range music to every seat.
The solution centred on a central cluster system with distributed delay rings and dedicated balcony fills — all driven by SSOUNDS amplification and DSP. The cluster is cardioid-configured to reject energy toward the dome ceiling, dramatically reducing reverberant build-up. Delay rings are time-aligned to within 0.1ms per zone.
Smaart measurement confirmed STI (Speech Transmission Index) scores above 0.75 in every zone — well above the 0.60 benchmark for intelligible speech in large venues.
