The Holy Ghost Rally is the Redeemed Christian Church of God's gathering with Pastor E. A. Adeboye at Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt, and SSOUNDS has produced it for seven consecutive years. A stadium rally that comes back every year is a different kind of job from a one off: the system has to be right on the night, and it has to be right again the following year, with everything learned in between.
The main PA is 140 line array elements and 64 subwoofers. Liberation Stadium is a bowl with the congregation on the pitch and in the stands, and the arrays are placed and aimed for the people rather than the stage: long throw into the stands, the pitch covered without overloading the front rows, and the subwoofers distributed so the low end is even from the stage to the back of the field.
Front of house is a Yamaha CL3 on the pitch, in the congregation, which is the only place the engineer can hear what the congregation hears. A rally is led by the spoken word for most of its length, and every mix decision starts with whether Pastor Adeboye is intelligible at the furthest seat.
Seven years of the same event is where a production company earns its place. The rig goes up faster each year, the tuning is a known starting point rather than a blank sheet, and the crew runs the service the same way every time. The photograph on the project page, taken at front of house on the pitch, is the engineer's view of the whole stadium.
The project record is here: Holy Ghost Rally. SSOUNDS has built the same kind of system for Koinonia Global at National Stadium, Abuja, written up in Koinonia General Assembly 2025, and for the NSPPD Prayer Conference at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
SSOUNDS designs and builds its own line arrays, subwoofers, amplifiers and DSP, and produces stadium rallies, crusades and conventions across Nigeria. Start with the houses of worship page or contact the team with the venue and the dates.
