Sinach Live in Concert ran across three cities, and SSOUNDS was the production company behind the sound: the Velodrome Stadium in Abuja, Johannesburg in South Africa, where the concert was recorded live in 2024, and Benin.
In Abuja the system was 78 line array elements and 32 subwoofers for the Velodrome. A gospel concert with a full choir and band needs two things from a PA that are easy to name and hard to get together: enough headroom for the choir and the band at full stretch, and enough clarity that a single voice carries over them. The arrays were placed for the audience, the subwoofers distributed for an even low end, and the system tuned before doors so that the first song was already right.
For Johannesburg, SSOUNDS supplied international front of house. A concert that is being recorded live has to sound right in the room and on the recording at the same time, and the front of house engineer is the person holding both. The mix in the room has to be musical for the audience, while the stage and the microphones have to be clean enough that the recording stands on its own afterwards.
The photographs on the project page show the choir and the band on stage, and the view from front of house. The project record is here: Sinach Live in Concert.
SSOUNDS tours with its own line arrays, subwoofers, amplifiers and DSP, and sends engineers where the artist goes. For a concert, a tour or a live recording, see the touring and rental page or contact the team.
