Sound system installation in Birmingham

Birmingham is the UK's second city and a conference capital, with the ICC in the city centre and the NEC beside the airport, and one of the most varied worship communities in the country.

SSOUNDS is a loudspeaker manufacturer registered in England and Wales. We design, supply, install and commission sound systems for churches, mosques, conference rooms, hospitality and education in Birmingham, using loudspeakers and amplification from our own range.

Installed sound for Birmingham's venues

Every room is a different acoustic problem. These four make up most of the installed sound market in Birmingham.

Churches, mosques and places of worship

Birmingham has one of the largest Muslim communities in Britain, with mosques from Birmingham Central Mosque in Highgate to the large prayer halls of Small Heath, Sparkbrook and Alum Rock, alongside Pentecostal and evangelical churches in Handsworth and across the city. A domed or high-ceilinged prayer hall is a reverberant room, and clear speech in it is exactly the job a line column is built for.

Conference rooms and corporate AV

Conference work centres on the ICC and the NEC, while the offices of Colmore Row and Brindleyplace need meeting rooms and town-hall spaces where speech is clear without anyone touching a mixer.

Hotels, bars and restaurants

Broad Street, the Jewellery Quarter and Digbeth carry the bars, restaurants and venues, and the hotels around the ICC and the NEC host events all year, each wanting sound that covers a function room evenly.

Universities, colleges and schools

The University of Birmingham, Aston University and Birmingham City University, with a large schools estate, specify lecture theatre and assembly hall sound.

How an installation works

  1. Step 1

    Site survey

We look at the room: its size and shape, what the walls and ceiling are made of, where people sit, and what the system has to do.

  2. Step 2

    Design and written quote

We model the coverage, choose the loudspeakers, amplification and microphones the room needs, and send a written quote in pounds sterling.

  3. Step 3

    Supply and installation

The loudspeakers and amplification come from our own range, shipped from our UK headquarters, then mounted, cabled and rigged.

  4. Step 4

    Commissioning and handover

The system is tuned in the room, your team is trained to run it, and you receive the as-built documentation.

We do not publish installation prices. A system is priced once the room has been seen, because the room decides how many loudspeakers it needs and where they go. You receive a written quote in pounds sterling, with no obligation.

Loudspeakers we install

Ceiling speakers for meeting rooms and hospitality, line columns for reverberant churches, mosques and halls, and compact point sources where music matters. All quoted, none listed.

A UK loudspeaker manufacturer

SSOUNDS designs and builds its own loudspeakers, amplifiers and processing, and publishes the data a consultant needs to specify them. There is no SSOUNDS office in Birmingham: projects here are designed and supplied from our UK headquarters in Mildenhall, and our engineers come to site for the survey and for commissioning.
