Davido's Timeless tour took SSOUNDS to Port Harcourt, to Cameroon and to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, delivering the audio, lighting and video production in each city. Moving a full concert production between three countries is a logistics job as much as a technical one, and the design was made to travel.
The stage was built under an arched roof with a diamond LED as its centrepiece, and the PA and the screens went up on towers either side so the sound and the picture reached the back of each site. The photographs on the project page show the arched roof and the diamond LED, the PA and screen towers, the drum riser, the keys position, and the crew at the barricade.
Front of house was a Yamaha Rivage PM3. A headline show with a full band, playback and a vocalist who works the whole stage needs a console that can hold a large input count and recall the show the same way in each city, and the PM3 was chosen for exactly that. The same show file travelled from Port Harcourt to Cameroon to Addis Ababa.
A touring production is only as good as its repeatability. The same roof, the same LED, the same console and the same crew in each city mean the artist walks onto a stage that behaves the way it did the last time, and the audience in Addis Ababa hears the show Port Harcourt heard.
The project record is here: Davido Timeless. SSOUNDS has produced for Sinach across Abuja, Johannesburg and Benin, written up in Sinach Live in Concert.
SSOUNDS tours with its own line arrays, subwoofers, amplifiers and DSP, across Nigeria and into the rest of Africa. For a tour or a headline concert, see the touring and rental page or contact the team.
